<font size="4" face="Arial">Ive seen thousands of bands play live and the backing tapes you refer to have been used by loads of major rock bands for years. In fact watching Live 8 a few weeks ago every decent band on there was using em, the only ones the didnt sounded cr@p. Queensryche, Def Lep, Poison, Kiss, Feeder all seem to do this live so I dont c what the problem is. If it makes for a great show then that works for meQuote:

I cannot comment on Kim & Co live these days, i lost interest in them some years back, when i last went to see them, they were still using backing tapes - thats not what i call a " killer LIVE performance" !!!!!!!!!Sorry

Lets put this in some kind of perspective. Def Leppard have a one armed drummer. They rely on triggers and samples from the bottom up.
Ive seen the Manics use triggers and loops. However, there is a differnce between adding a broader dimension to the live sound by using a sample or a triggered backing loop, and actually relying on those triggers and loops to create your actual LIVE sound.

Ha ha! we actually did use a loop on the opening song of the set. It had some samples from Lethal Weapon 2 and the Bugs Bunny theme tune sampled together. The difference is, that we could cut it as live band without having to pad out the sound with anything other than what we generated in the moment. (For your F**Kin infomation!)
